Meet the face
behind the art

When I was five years old my art teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up. Immediately I answered, " I want to be an artist!" I have always had a strong passion for art. Art was my safe space. I could lose myself in my work. No, actually I found myself in my art. Through art there was no rules, no bullies telling me I wasn't good enough. Like my creativity I was Limitless.

To my surprise my art teacher responded "You shouldn't be an artist. There is no future in that." Was she most likely projecting her own shortcomings onto me? Maybe. However, due to my ignorance as a child I believed that this woman being my teacher had my best interest at heart. So, I took her advice. I gave up on becoming an artist and grew up to take on a more promising career. That right you guessed it, the medical field. Somewhere between the bed pans and restless nights of sleep. I realized this was not the life I wanted to live.

So, I woke up in the middle of the night 24 years old; grabbed a paint brush and a canvas and I found myself again. Now with your support I can prove that dreams do come true. I want to show my community and the people of the world that their emotions are valid and that there is beauty in their culture and who they are. With your support, I want to prove to the world that all you have is all you will ever need. You are enough!
